What are Employee Networks?
They are voluntary, employee-led groups that center around individuals that share characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, or other defining criteria. They seek to increase inclusion and encourage a sense of belonging by offering groups that are historically underrepresented an opportunity to address common challenges and concerns and receive support from those who share similar backgrounds, experiences, or interests.
These networks provide a forum to discuss topics essential for creating an inclusive working environment. They highlight current disadvantages precluding specific groups from excelling in the work environment and create opportunities for learning, networking, and building relationships.
This consulting engagement is focused on creating a structure for Employee Networks. The scope includes:
Designing a survey to gain clarity from the employees on what they are looking for in Employee Networks.
Conducting a virtual meeting with the employees to introduce the concept of Employee Networks, share best practices, and facilitate discussion about the structure.
Creating a selection process for group leaders and executive sponsors.
Facilitating a virtual kick-off meeting with the group leaders and the executive sponsors to guide them in creating a mission and a plan for their group.
Meeting with each of the group leaders and providing them with individual support that is essential for the creation and implementation of the networks.
